Americans need to understand that no amount of Intelligence will defend against a willing threat targeting an unprotected target or a target unwilling to defend itself. Believing in the theory that surrendering individual liberties, freedoms and unalienable rights will be an adequate substitute for personal defense is equally specious.
The burden of true security rest solely on the individual, and by extension, a national collective of individuals; the American people watching-out for each other by being ever-vigilant in the defense of one another’s freedoms and liberties. Though one might expect the Government to litigate these on your behalf, never ever fall into the trap of believing they will defend or assert them.
Those freedoms, espoused by the Bill of Rights, are in fact unalienable as are the liberties which accompany however, with them comes an intimate and discernable prohibition; no freedom comes without a duty and this duty is the very prohibition to which I speak. You may be free to have and possess a gun however you are not at liberty to shoot whomever you want. You may be free to speak your mind however you possess no such liberty to speak in such a way as to incite an offense prohibiting those who would speak in opposition to you. You may be free to practice your religion but you have no such liberty to practice a religion that ether proselytizes harm to any person or harbor those who would, period.
It is with this previous point in mind that I offer the following: It is indisputable that not all Muslims are terrorists – I have several friends who are practitioners of Islam and I hold them no less equal to any other regardless of their faith or absence of one – however, it is also the case that those who are (Terrorists) profess allegiance to the most extreme interpretations of Islam.
If the U.S. is going to be the champion of Unalienable Rights then it must also be willing to protect the entire domain of those Rights; its Freedoms and the sanctuary of those Liberties prohibitions. It is also incumbent, if you are going to be a part of the American Citizenry, it is upon you to be an ever-vigilant advocate of the very same system allowing you to enjoy said Freedoms.
This Extremist form of Jihad will continue and expand unless and until the entire American public/system demonstrates zero-tolerance. Each exhibition will only license greater and more extreme risk. Given the expanse of this country there is only one truly effective way to combat the process and that is for the Muslim Community to become rabid advocates and move immediately to excise the extremists from their ranks. To give it no quarter and unmercifully stand in opposition. To dare to justify, defend or merely separate the moderate sects as somehow being victimized by an unrelated or aberrant anomaly of extremism, or, even worse, to litigate on First Amendment Terms, will be catastrophic for the American Muslim Community.
Absence of deliberate action, the public mood will inevitably shift so dramatically into anti-Muslim regiment so potent that even the ACLU will look for a safe distance. You will then see conspicuous monitoring of Muslims, their Mosque related activities, relationships, teachings and few, if any, will stand in opposition to it occurring.
