Recently a dear Friend sent me a link to an interesting piece by Chris Hedges, requesting my response. Intrigued by the title I was drawn to the task and having done so I reclined to consider the piece and was immediately reminded of the great challenge I encounter when working to digest the meaning of and behind missives of social-conscience.
Most often social movements are driven by incredibly imbalanced forces and quite frankly I often find it difficult to identify what it is they want, the “what” it is that they’re after, the “what” of what is to be gained (other than chaos and further imbalance) or accomplished and most critically important, how or in what way does their goal align with further perfecting Mankind’s nearness to the Ideal.
I can tell you, unequivocally, that is the goal of TIMF; to bring to your attentions issues that we believe are critical to raising awareness particularly those which impede or impair that process of self-perfecting. Now then, the following paragraph is my response (to a close Friend) however, it is likely best for contextual purposes that you read Mr. Hedges piece before reading the following and so for that purpose I’ve provided the link below to his truthdig article. I confess my “response” is a bit raw and I spent little time on the edit process and so I admonish myself in advance and ask for your accommodation.
“To easy and convenient an explanation, but then again that’s become the norm for a social structure built on the graphic impulse(s) of self-propagating illusions.
The great trouble I have with these neo-fascist want-to-be intellectuals is that they never complete their argument, they never fully exhaust the inquiry to a point of rational conclusion and I believe I’ve figured out why, but first a couple of points to be made:
- I don’t necessarily disagree with his evolution of despair and the sociological forces at work however, what is key and also where my support abruptly ends, is that they routinely conclude that the causal forces are somewhere external to the Individual, somewhere ‘out there’, some other fascist force, e.g., the Capitalist, the Elite, the NWO, Bush, Obama, Trump etc., that has usurped the public conscience.
- They seem to impress upon their audience that the resolution is only found in the convergence of the masses upon the “common good”, but yet fall short in defining what that “good” actually is, how its defined and by whom, where it’s found and the point upon or at which the ‘all’ converge into ‘one.’
The idea of admitting to or perhaps even suggesting that the root ‘Cause’ of ‘cause’ is not the Human Being at all, but is in fact the ‘Universal One’ that is and also provides the explanation for the ‘why’ behind our Individual Purpose and, as well, the existence of the Universe and our ‘Being’ as a part of it, is deliberately evaded.
Yes, Man needs the comfort of knowing he’s integral to a compelling ideal, but this discovery or premise is a distant second to Understanding without which all else remains merely the binding of a book with no printed text and thus becomes yet another hollow argument/premise. Understanding both illuminates and animates for Man the medley that is the Universe however, most importantly, it gives each of us the ability to grasp that we each are integral to the whole of it (the Universe) evolving forward as it is designed and ultimately will. ‘Get ye wisdom but above all get ye understanding.’
Man will continue down the course of torment until he gets this truth and moves to immerse himself in it. The reality is that these Intellectuals, as Einstein ultimately did confess, can’t bring themselves to the acceptance of the existence of the “Universal One” because to do so lessens their self-appointed loftiness; a prospect which terrifies the already terrified ego-centric nihilist.
The battle, as it always is, is not an external battle, but one of internal contest. And so, as we observe in our present era, the illusion continues and with it the frequent eruption of the pragmatic-anarchist types that willingly and easily find kinship with other pragmatic-anarchist types falling victim to ideologies that are themselves void of soundness so much so they easily expand to accommodate the additional voids of each new membership.
Yes, they’re all convinced, including the Media, they’ve got potent reasons for being part of their planned imposition. They just can’t tell you what or the why behind what it is they intend. The result is as naturally predictable as it is, on its own, proof of a how powerful the false premise simulating reality can become. The harder they preach the search for what they’re running from and pushing toward, the greater the void and the farther from the truth they migrate.
One of the great ironies or recent memory is former President Obama’s follow-up front-group, the OFA (Organizing for Action), represents the pinnacle of this evolving process. Even its name, ‘Organizing for Action’, fanaticizes over the promise of both expanding and promulgating the purest form of malignancy Man must ultimately face: A Lie Remains a Lie Regardless of How Frequently or How Often the Claim of Truth is Repeated.
Seems that each new ‘age’ is accompanied by yet another tranquilizer silencing both the conscience and the mind. The social conscience of the nation is either silenced by the assault of the latest neo-intellectuals or occupied by some nascent form soon-to-become an iconic evolution. LBJ/Nixon brought forth the burn-it- all-down flower culture and fiscal barbarism. Carter/Ford were accompanied by congenital-malaise of low-expectations. Reagan unwittingly unleashed the shape-shifting non-intellectual. Bush the treachery of the New World Order and expanded the reach of globalized military. Clinton, the reckless abandon on all fronts. Bush Jr. and Obama formalized socialized warfare, open boarder pragmatism, systematic 3rd world indoctrination along with all the tax revenue generating drugs you could ever consume along with the fantasy of Tech – intimacy thru iPhone & social media-ocritized polemics!
As to President Trump, it’s difficult as yet to evaluate his efforts/contribution as much of what has taken place and/or attributed to his presence/actions is largely a function of a Globalized Hierarchy Convulsing over the prospects of being exposed for the predatory whores that they are. And so I must reserve judgement however, what I will say is this: He has done a masterful job at exposing just how far out of the realm of reason, thoroughly backward and self-destructive the American Social-Political Culture has become.
In the whole, this is no longer a Sovereign Nation being Governed by a form of Government that is Faithful to the Sovereign Individual or, for that matter, understands the sacredness of the same. My greater fear is that the People themselves may not grasp its significance.”
