Baltimore: War on Poverty

As is often the case every social failure is articulated as a function of money; not enough spent. Since the dawn of LBJ’s War on Poverty (circa 1964) the U.S. Taxpayer has spent $22 Trillion on various anti-poverty programs and the result has proven the entire affair, like most government programs, to be a stunning failure. The only success being that poverty, as a politically demeaning attribute, is now so perfectly systemic that the systemic bureaucracy that has grown up from the war on poverty itself survives only by breeding a perpetual poverty state.

Furthermore the issue is not a Black/Brown vs. White thing, after all if the good of the Nation is truly of concern then is it not the case that non-poverty is equally beneficial to the human form regardless of race? Despite this holistic fact/truth all one has to do is to look at how Government articulates itself and the political apparatus/bureaucracy which forms to suit its interest, to the problem and the failure is irrefutable; it’s decidedly if not entirely based on race.

Government’s role is to care for and maintain the infrastructure of the country however, it is so important to understand that it is incapable of responding to the demands placed on the infrastructure which of course is always a function (the “demand”) of what individuals generate out of/from their individual choices and their personal drive. The Government is neither capable of generating choice/drive however, when allowed to institutionalize a political solution the outcome is always counterproductive and the proof, in part, can be observed in the non-outcome of trillions in dollars spent.

Specifically: it is important to understand that it is more often the case that a process fails NOT due to a systemic fault in the system but more often from a demand placed on a system that it was never equipped or intended to serve. Across this Nation once thriving urban areas existed due to an economic process that, operating at best form, regionally integrated multiple economic spectrums including manufacturing, agriculture, service and government (in order of priority).

Now government sits at the top of the social and economic pyramid attempting to feed off an ever diminishing economic portfolio. In short, no amount of government handouts, CVS Pharmacies, Box Store, Subway, Liquor stores etc., under this economic system, will ever reach sufficient economic activity to subsidize an inverted economic system. Including government and the economic demands of a fully dysfunctional population particularly where an entire economic structure both consume and constricts the creation of wealth.

The only way this process is reversed is for the public to turn-against this system and refuse to be both its bait and its fodder and force the form and function of appropriate government.
