As if the seemingly ever-decaying standards of decorum aren’t sufficient cause for Americans’ contempt for Congress there is an entirely new front forming lead by Rep. Pelosi (D-Ca) and Sen. Warren (D-Ma). The further loss of control in the House paired with the turn-over in the Senate has unleashed a torrent of excrement by political sloths eager to remain relevant.
Pelosi, well known for her complete absence of integrity, is now paired with an ally in the Senate (Ms. Warren) bent on matching Ms. Pelosi’s stream of untruths. Her most recent effort being the attempted disruption of the Omnibus Spending Bill presently working its way to the President’s desk for signature. The fact is that the Dodd-Frank Bill is a disaster particularly if the intent was to reign-in the too-big-to-fail Banking System and/or to save the taxpayer from future bailouts and Wall Street operational excesses. Rammed thru the House and later affirmed by the Senate the Bill merely expanded the scope and conditions that actually insure further financial risk (to the Nation).
Had Ms. Pelosi and Ms. Warren bothered to read, and understand, the Bill they would have easily observed the key defects and simply recommended the restoration of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933. Neither of these Politicians is even remotely interested in consumer protection. They are interested in carving out a niche-of-relevance enabling each, and others that share the same animus, to continue feeding pig-slop to the very electorate that continues to vote them into office.
Likewise, the only reason the Obama Administration supports the Spending Bill is they want their stooge (Harry Reid) to cut a deal that includes an expedient affirmation (by the Senate and before the Christmas recess) of Presidential appointments. Nothing more than that!
