Clinton vs Trump; The Error in Context & Contrast

The Primary Season is effectively over and as far as Hillary is concerned few are surprised, save for the unlikely event of a blow-up at the DNC love-fest in Philly or her indictment and the subsequent substitution of Biden or Kerry, she is their Presumptive Nominee while Trump reigns as the GOP’s surviving choice.

Last evening (June 7th), as the last of the days results were reporting in, I spent a few hours robo-surfing the various news outlets including Megyn Kelly’s Inimical Hour of Parody which included a live audience venting, on cue, their personal political observations. Having watched, observed and annotated the primary process, far more than ever before, I’ve arrived at a conclusion that is laced with contradictions; the manner by which Candidates are judged/measured using, as a standard, the very political system an overwhelming number of Americans have soundly rebuked.

Will the RNC Hand Hillary the Oval Office? They Just Might!

The GOP/RNC Elite are feverously working their own rule-book for a way to bury Trump and, quite possibly Cruz as well, with the public, unknowingly, playing right into their game-plan. “The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That’s the conflict here,” so says Curly Haugland, RNC Rules Committee Chairman. He went on to say, “Political parties choose their nominee and not the general public.” When asked, “Then why bother holding the primaries?” He replied, “That’s a very good question.”

Fox News: Influence Peddling?

Trump’s musing over his attending Fox/Google sponsored debate triggers an infantile response from Fox News infuriating the lead GOP Candidate. The mistake is to view Trumps response as a show of weakness, fear, or even childish; this would be wrong.

A key rule in strength-negotiating is this: your greatest strength rests in your ability to walk away from a deal that doesn’t support itself. The problem for Trump is that Fox and the rest of the Media control the narrative and are delighted to give Trump’s opposition a pre-paved high-road upon which to characterize his position in any way they choose – effectively handing Iowa to Cruz.

Trump On Cruz; First Stop Iowa

Bad news for Ted; his favorability among Evangelicals is proving less potent than he’d hoped. A recent NYT/CBS polls shows Trump actually dominating this voter carve-out at 42 percent vs. 25 percent for Cruz.

Political pundits and RNC operatives, having consistently claimed Trump to be the face of the Ignorant American, are beginning to choke on their words as Trump is appearing to be far more adept at crossing boundaries than they’d planned. Team Trump has announced a key revelation to occur today. Some suggest it might be Sarah Palin (a mistake if it is) however, I’m betting on an appearance from Jerry Falwell, Jr.

Tax Plans Only Part of the Solution

As Trump (and others) talks tax-reform it is important to know that rate reductions, though significant, are only part of the solution. True, taxation often works to counter economic development, the rise of which (tax rates) follows growth in government which then trends toward economic deceleration; the facts are undeniable.

In order to trigger an economic resurgence it is insufficient to merely reduce “rates” as this action does nothing to address what occurs with the funds retained that would have otherwise gone to government coffers. The solution is to tether Corporate Tax Rates to a scale that is based on their investment in Domestic Productive Capacity and in the Technology Development that makes use of it.
