The Richness of the American Ideal is no longer taught in our schools. The language on the Statue in New York Harbor is now more of an epitaph used to mock a compelling promise; one that drew millions from the Old World to and through the gates of Ellis Island. There was a time when it was clear that the “melting pot” was the driving desire to become “a part of” and not “separate from”, that the strength of this Naton was the certainty of the Individuals Virtue held in trust along with the other truths we hold to be self-evident.  Read more...
