Leon Panetta; Patriot or Piranha? “Worthy Fights”?

Being a published author myself I acknowledge there’s a certain strategy when titling a book. It is pure and simple a matter of enticement and while Mr. Panetta is making the rounds on TV and radio promoting his memoirs several questions have arisen. Is he violating his loyalty to the President? If he was so concerned about the President’s policy agenda or leadership capacity then why did he remain so visibly anonymous while in office?

However, what remains a yet-to-be-subject of discussion that for me is far more relevant let us recall, first and foremost, that Mr. Panetta is and characterizes much of what we refer to as the Washington Toxin. From his fist political office, as California’s (17th District) Representative, and on thru his various government positions he’s mastered the political-operative art. He is a staunch advocate of the political status quo; he is, in fact, a key lubricant in the process.

Listening thru several recordings of his most recent interviews I find that what is more important is not so much what he says (he offers nothing that isn’t or has been painfully obvious), but more so how he cleverly characterizes his defense(s). He uses the ever subtle double entendre specifically in his comments regarding Secretary Clintons actions in general and specifically as it relates to the deaths of U.S. Personnel in Libya citing that “…if she’d have known, she would have been the first to act.”

This of course represents a tacit assumption that she is now relieved of any duty or further that the entire affair is not her fault as she is irretrievably ignorant or she eclipses culpability for having done nothing once the attack was known. How utterly and deceptively repulsive!

No, here’s what Mr. Panetta’s book and media appearances are ALL ABOUT. He’s nothing more than a political ally setting a newly crafted message upon which Mrs. Clinton will rely as she sashay’s her way about the country, on her way to the White House,  reconstructing the public’s memory of her predatory incompetence.  She possesses an attribute that Mr. Obama hasn’t, intellectually or emotionally, time for; Mrs. Clinton is unremorsefully calculating and that makes her, were she elected, far more dangerous than any President; ever!
