It was December 1989, central Mediterranean Island Nation of Malta that then President George H.W. Bush began the first phase of what would become the Post-Soviet era of conquest. Bush assured Gorbachev that the U.S. would not take advantage of revolutions occurring in Eastern Europe. (the collapsing Soviet/Eastern Block).
While to many who studied the geopolitical ambiguities of the Cold War era it seemed inevitable that U.S.S.R. had found itself in irreversible freefall I doubt few, myself included, anticipated the speed with which its collapse would occur. Still, even while and long after the Berlin Wall crumbled, the U.S. and its Euro allies continued to assure Russia that the expansion of NATO would not occur.
It is important to understand that while the collapse of the U.S.S.R. was devastating, on many levels, for Russia it is also the case that the Russian powerbrokers knew the old system was unsurvivable and saw the opportunity to become part of the global political and economic/financial system in very positive terms, yes, even Putin.
Now then, in contrast, the West (Globalists) saw something quite different, the expansion of U.S. hegemony and for Russia, their greatest fear, the harvesting of their resources and the loss of their Ancestral Identity, their Sovereignty. From the West’s perspective, once again, yes we lied to the Russians and were doing everything possible to squeeze them into submission. Sanctions, working to block-off trade routes via the Black Sea to the Mediterranean leaving Russia with seasonal Baltic access and distant ports in/around the Kamchatka Peninsula nearly 5,000 miles to the west.
Putin, a former KGB Intel Officer, first emerged in the late 90’s as Russian Prime Minister and it wasn’t much of a stretch in his imagination to scale the intensions of the West; station NATO in each of the former Members of the Soviet Block including Ukraine and the Crimean Peninsula (home of Russia’s only warm-water Port/Naval Base.) Think of it, if the U.S. wouldn’t tolerate Russian Nuclear tipped Missiles ninety miles off the coast of Florida (Cuba) I think it reasonable to expect that Putin/Russia would have a similar objection to a NATO anchor in Ukraine.
Every U.S. President, save for Donald Trump, since George H.W. Bush paired with their own State and Intel Departments that have worked to orchestrate a Ukrainian Government Head favorable to their ambitions; that Bush 1, Clinton, Bush II, Obama and Biden (a.k.a. “The Bush Clan“) and I believe it’s reasonable to say that they all have been rewarded quite heartily and USAID is just one the many tools used to affect a profitable outcome for all involved.
Now then, what of Volodymyr Zelenskyy? Ukraine, even and perhaps especially during the Soviet era, has always been a clearing house for articles of vice. Any “Western” items from alcohol to Levis, Drugs from Turkey to a variety of arms trade from within and outside of Russia were the commodities of choice for a hearty black market. Post December of 1991, Ukraine’s Independence, the graft and corruption has expanded exponentially.
With this narrative just slightly off-stage can see why Zelenskyy acts as he does, dressing down to a Castro-Esque Insurgent’s Fatigue. The identity of austere conviction, a man of intensity, purpose, ultimately, of Pure Panic. He’s being coached, you can bet on it, by those who believe they know Trumps soft spots, his vulnerabilities. Zelensky has a great deal to answer for not unlike the Member of “The Bush Clan.”
Trump is working, where Russia and Ukraine are concerned, in a terrain that is being manipulated by Global Interests none of which share his ambitions. The Global Cabal wants war with Russia not because they are concerned about Ukraine (in their mind they win regardless of what happens) no, they want to eliminate Putin so that they can monetize Russia’s Natural Resources and begin to squeeze China who they see as having turned their (the ChiComms) back on the benevolence of the Global Elite.
Still, Trump is on the verge of a remarkable turn-around in U.S. Foreign Policy which includes both Economic and Energy Policy as well; it will send ripples of stability and assurance around the globe. My hope is that the American Public will come to understand what’s at stake and stand firm with Trump as he and his Administration work to restore this Nations damaged compass.
