Comey- Draining a Puddle!

I’m annoyed by the syrupy deference offered Public Officials; a sort of wholesale reverence that transcends reason or justification particularly when the standards of performance are so incredibly low. Where the bar that would otherwise constitute a breach-of-duty and get one fired is seemingly an unachievable trigger-point.

Yates Court of Revision

For all the rehashing of the Trump-Flynn-Russia menagerie I believe the most significant event was Ms. Yates’ explanation for why she chose not to defend Trump’s EO.

It has, and again today, been made abundantly clear that the original Travel Ban met the legal test sufficient to warrant backing by the DOJ. Yet, despite her well-scripted and rehearsed sermon-on-the-banal, it is abundantly clear that her actions were personal if not right out of Encyclopedia-Obama.

More specifically and to the point; it is not the AG’s function to adjudicate the discretion of the Policy-Making Apparatus any more than it is the privilege of an AG to camouflage their personal opposition by anticipating the arguments of a yet to be named or known Plaintiff.

Healthcare: Government Healthcare’s Here to Stay!

While it appears that the Republicans have managed to assemble a Repeal & Replace Bill two fundamental truths have now emerged:

(1) The American Public, prompted by the progressive antics of cradle-to-grave mythologies, consider Healthcare Coverage a fundamental right and privilege with an expectancy that the costs associated with the same will somehow magically relieve them of any personal responsibility.

(2) If any Bill emerges that does not link the cost of providing these Benefits to the market-forces driving Healthcare Costs then you can kiss any potential for Fiscal Management goodbye.

Spending Bill – a $1.1T Challenge for the President

While the Administration is in desperate need of scoring Legislative Victories, it seems that neither Speaker Ryan nor Sen. McConnell are paired to the same sense of purpose. The danger here is that Ryan may, like Boehner before him, be fueling mutiny within the GOP Ranks by surrendering, once again, to the Democrats.

As Sen. Schumer stated in an interview with The Washington Post, “I think we had a strategy and it worked,… Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate were closer to one another than Republicans were to Donald Trump.” If one pauses for a moment and considers his observation we can quickly see the audacious treachery buried just below the surface; we’ve arrived at the lowest possible common-denominator where success is universally repudiated.

Buy American-Hire American

Strange how a concept such as this must be sold to Congress and to the American People; one would think this an obvious concept.

Far worse is that the U.S. Congress, specifically the Senate, is the greatest offender of all as you need only review the various Trade-Agreements the U.S. Senate has signed-off on.

Being ignorant is no defense for being complicit or cannibalistic. Still, like most errors, this mess can be fixed, but it will require a significant reformation of the U.S. Tax Code and lowering Corporate Tax Rates is simply not enough.
