Shallow Outrage Over Muslim Obama Comment

Face it, election-politics are as civil as a knife-fight and generally a substantive as a glazed doughnut. Americans by now should be keenly aware, whether you like him or not, that the rush to assault Trump for being unwilling to push-back against an audience comment (regarding Obama being Muslim) strikes the bell of synthetic-rage particularly as its being driven by Media forces and Political Hacks.

Regardless of what the President may claim to be his faith of choice remains largely irrelevant as are the comments made by the individual at Trumps rally or the manner in which he (Trump) handled or failed to handle it. CNN Wins Debate

Smoldering from declining audience and ad revenues, CNN’s debate structure won them a big punch bowl of ratings and revenues. As expected, Trump was the evenings Joe Palooka and I found his restraint amazing. Perhaps illustrating that he’s far more pressure-tolerant and less bombastic than many had thought. A most estimable trait particularly for an occupant of the Oval Office.

On the flip side of the evening is Carly Fiorina who made a point of avoiding direct eye contact with Trump while resigned to peevish quips, brooding mannerisms and bilious rants. By the way, the very type of exhibitions that got her fired from HP and precisely the type of hypnotic bile CNN hoped for.  Read more...

CNN – GOP Debate

Trump may be polling well however, his rise is not built on substance, but on the weakness (save for Dr. Carson) of the competition. As in the case with the Dem’s where the rise of the not so Outside-Insider Sanders is largely attributable to the unelectable Clinton.

Trump has been able to succeed with base Bluster-Messaging while most of the remaining GOP waste-away in the media shadows. Understanding that Trump has avoided offering policy positions as targets for his opponents to shoot at, sooner or later substance will have to emerge from the shallows of non-competition. The CNN debate could very well be the scene were the likes of Rubio, Paul, Christie and Bush try to take a bite out of Trump (no, Fiorina is far too savvy for a televised head-to-head with Trump) or perhaps even Jindal-Jab him.  Read more...

Trump Forcing GOP to Face Race Card

Like him or not Trump is exactly the kind of force I’d hoped would arrive; after all hoping that this country’s political system would self-cleanse was and has never been a likely event. For the first time since the LBJ era introduced the caricature of government-sponsored race-based opportunism along comes Trump (and Dr. Carson) who do the unthinkable by attacking the issues head-on. Forcing the GOP to face their culpability in allowing the race-based divide to continue.
I’ve not seen a single media outlet even begin to approach the issue, keeping their tradition of being a complimentary force in the destructive process in place, regardless of how critically relevant the issue may be. Instead of crawling into a defensive posture, what the GOP should be doing, and in part I believe this is precisely what both Trump and Dr. Carson are promulgating, is to craft issues of opportunity not based on Race but simply on universally applicable terms. Those that the very same Conservative Principles the Party promotes are precisely those that will erase the Race-Divide created by nearly 50 years of Race-Based Politics.
These same conservative principles are here, universally, to benefit each individual and they do so despite the color of your skin or economic background. What should be promoted is an Anti-Race agenda; an agenda that is universal and non-specific as to Race and yet, in practical terms, universally applicable to all; isn’t this what we stand for?
If we are going to claim the universal principals stated in our own Declaration of Independence then how is it anyone should expect the process to produce its stated promise if government, due to its policies and as the result of predatory political ambitions both of which animate and feed upon the race-divide, is itself the single greatest sponsor of segregation?

Immigration; How Extreme is Trump?

Is Mass Deportation (voluntary or involuntary), Boarder Control, Currency Flow Restriction and Ending “Anchor” Baby Policy so extreme? Or is the hype merely an extension of an obvious reality no political technician dare face?

The facts are that this Nation’s political regime long ago surrendered sovereign allegiance in favor of expedience. The consequence of which is an exponential growth in debt, uncontrollable budget/spending routines, a decapitated financial/economic sector and an evaporating social cohesion. Not to mention a population, generally, that is so miss-informed that not only are they unable to recognize the cause of their decline they find the frighteningly few solutions peevishly offensive.  Read more...
