N. Korea; Navigating a Plan Forward

The challenge facing the U.S. is not that the NK issue is structurally any different than it was in 1953 (Armistice), but that now, after years of chronic policy neglect, the situation is no longer simply about trade, human rights, boarder spats and the occasional hit and run antics of the N. Korean Military. The entire theatrical matrix is now tinctured with a Nuclear Threat, the source of which involves Iran, Pakistan, China and Russia.

If that weren’t enough to sting the mind, you have the various area residents (primarily S. Korea, Japan and Taiwan) facing a more immediate threat and in the case of N. Korea, concerned that U.S. actions might unleash a N. Korean storming of their northern border.

Skinny’s Dead; Scheming Very Much Alive!

While Republican Senators John McCain of Arizona, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine stand, along with the entire Democratic Party, as front-line stewards of congestive failure, the real loss is measured in the distance between promises made and promises kept, the ideals of representative democracy and elected officials reverence for it.

It has long been my opinion and recommendation that the Repeal & Replace concept should have been sidelined until a roll-out of a Complete Replacement Plan was published. The critical issue to be observed here is this: The Senate couldn’t muster the 51 votes from either Party to pass the so-called “Skinny” Bill which further confirms the severity of the underlying problem.

Senator McCain: The Pagan Legate!

The Senate’s reverent response to Senator McCain’s return, ostensibly to cast his vote on the latest iteration of this forums attempt to keep its promise to the electorate (which I expect McCain will ultimately oppose), is puzzling.

How, with absolutely no legislative success of worthy mention, with no single (original) policy missive of merit and a history of ceremonial contradiction like no other, has this Senator managed to amass a standing commanding such regard?

Timeless Emerson

When chaos, like an all-consuming fog, makes its presence known, it’s good to have great wisdoms at hand to aid in righting your thoughts. I offer you a few of my favorites, all of which are from Emerson. Were it the case that these were all I were to have ever had the privilege to read, I’d have surely been the better, for what we consume becomes the image etched in the mirror.

“The reason why the world lacks unity, and lies broken and in heaps, is, because man is disunited with himself.”

Congress Fails Again! TIME FOR TERM LIMITS!

Without question, Trump has been setup for failure. Before it gets worse, speaking of Repeal and Replace, even if a “Bill” were to reach his desk he should immediately retract his support of their efforts and go to the American Public with a prime-time address explaining the truth behind what Congress has done.

I’ve had the great privilege of participating in efforts to formulate a functional restructuring of the U.S. Healthcare System and the many of you who’ve read any of my books or essays on the subject know the expanse of the efforts. The fact is there was never a concerted effort (by Congress) to Repeal & Replace Obamacare, the single greatest and catastrophic blow to the U.S. Healthcare System bar none (with Medicaid/Medicare a close second).
