Skinny’s Dead; Scheming Very Much Alive!

While Republican Senators John McCain of Arizona, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine stand, along with the entire Democratic Party, as front-line stewards of congestive failure, the real loss is measured in the distance between promises made and promises kept, the ideals of representative democracy and elected officials reverence for it.

It has long been my opinion and recommendation that the Repeal & Replace concept should have been sidelined until a roll-out of a Complete Replacement Plan was published. The critical issue to be observed here is this: The Senate couldn’t muster the 51 votes from either Party to pass the so-called “Skinny” Bill which further confirms the severity of the underlying problem.

Congress Fails Again! TIME FOR TERM LIMITS!

Without question, Trump has been setup for failure. Before it gets worse, speaking of Repeal and Replace, even if a “Bill” were to reach his desk he should immediately retract his support of their efforts and go to the American Public with a prime-time address explaining the truth behind what Congress has done.

I’ve had the great privilege of participating in efforts to formulate a functional restructuring of the U.S. Healthcare System and the many of you who’ve read any of my books or essays on the subject know the expanse of the efforts. The fact is there was never a concerted effort (by Congress) to Repeal & Replace Obamacare, the single greatest and catastrophic blow to the U.S. Healthcare System bar none (with Medicaid/Medicare a close second).

TrumpCare the Hard Way!

Like it or not the President, to the delight of Schumer & Pelosi, now owns Obamacare. Despite our recommendations, Ryan, McConnell & Price have persuaded the Administration to take a different course. Instead of coming out with a plan that directly reconstructs the entire system they’ve decided to run a leveraged approach. Leveraged in the sense that will phase-in their ascent of Mount Obamacare by first presenting a “working” plan in the form of proposed legislation, followed by 3-4 concurrent Bills, principally with the intent of engaging both parties into the consensus-by-amendment process.

Healthcare: The Undeliverable Promise Now Owned by Trump/GOP!

Under the sub-title of “What the Public expects from a lie too often spoken” are the facts no politician dare confess: Politicians make promises with no consideration for the consequential effect of unrealistic claims knowing full well that a Public relieved of its personal responsibility is a Constituent for Life.

Take, for instance, Obamacare, a program designed to be both invasive and a failure. I understand this may seem quite peculiar however, if you consider that the ulterior motive – which would otherwise be politically unsurvivable for President Obama and several key Democrats if attempted in one comprehensive move – was to end up with a national single-payer system (Medicare) then the need for an intermediate step makes sense.
