The Obama Factor

March 16, 2009

For the last eighteen months I’ve been satisfying a profound curiosity by studying, researching and reading all things Obama.  The man fascinates me!  I’m intrigued by the way his cabal has been able to mastermind his ascension to the Throne. Truly remarkable!

Not to ignore the fact that with reference to all things sane, salient and substantively providential, I find him the complete antithesis of each.

His ethos emulates great social antagonists of the past/present.  The list is quite large, here are a few and the most conspicuous:

  • Caligula
  • Marie Antoinette

Flat Earth Econ

February 6, 2009

One of the great thrills of writing these posting is that I get to exchange with you ideas that are crafted, largely, from spontaneous thoughts occurring in instances where I’m speaking in front of a group or I barking at the radio!

“Flat Earth Idolatry” (FEI)  is just one of the spontaneous thoughts!   I coined the word to capture the though of observed, by me of course,  instances were an event is being expressed as a “given” when in fact it is based on completely erroneous assumptions.  The kind of event that when one observes its occurrence you find yourself saying, “oh come one, who do they think they’re kidding!”

Made-Off is Clear

January 26, 2009

Yes,  it’s a play on words!  There’s more to say about Bernie Maidoff and his scheme though I’ll leave to investigators, ultimately, to unravel the depth of the misprision.  He will be found guilty, he will give up his lush and lavish lifestyle and spend a few years at any one of the minimum security compounds available.

Inauguration Day Past

January 21, 2009

Presidential Inaugurations!   Why don’t we simply call them “coronations”!   I really don’t have much to say on this subject so this posting will be very short!

Couple of points:

1. Why do I get the feeling that the nation has just been given a dose of hemlock?

2. Why is so much money spent?  Is the approach one that expresses the notion being thus: the louder the noise the greater the concealment of plunder?  Or,

 3. Is more to the truth of Marie Antoinette’s famous reply, when all around her were the signs of a collapsing France, “Well, then, let them eat cake.”

Democracy, A Tough Choice

January 15, 2009

“America isn’t easy,  America is advanced citizenship, you’ve got to want it bad….” This piece is taken form the 1995 movie “American President” and in the demonstrated performance American ethos and passion,  the scene (“American President – the Speech ”) where this excerpt is sourced is not to be missed. Yes the later 1.4 minutes are annoying to me for the topic of discussion on Crime Bill and Energy Bill a bit on the side of misguided however,  but I must confess,  I’ve never seen Michael Douglas give a more stunning performance.
